Pastoral Care
Meals Ministry
At St. Francis Church, we believe in the power of community, especially during times of need. We understand that life can be challenging, and that is why we are here to offer support and nourishment in every sense of the word. Our Meals Ministry provides comfort to our parishioners when they need it most, such as times of sorrow due to illness or loss, by providing healthy meals prepared with love and care. Our dedicated volunteers create a variety of meals suitable for all dietary needs and preferences.
Join Our Team
We believe in the power of fellowship, and we are always looking to expand our team of volunteers. If you have a passion for cooking, a heart for serving others, and a desire to make a difference in our community, we invite you to join us. Whether you can commit to cooking once
a month or just providing the ingredients, every contribution helps. If you or someone you know could benefit from our Meals Ministry, or you would like to volunteer, please contact Carol Wells or Melinda Dobbs in the church directory or call the St. Francis Willow Glen office.

We care for one another as we seek God's presence, healing, and peace. If you need pastoral services or if you feel called to serve and would be interested in helping, please contact the office at 408-292-7090.

SACRAMENTS
St. Francis has Lay Eucharistic Visitors who are trained and licensed to take Communion to those who are unable to attend church. Please notify the office if this is desired. Clergy are available if needed. BAPTISMS Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble. Parents and godparents are instructed in the meaning of Baptism, in their duties to help the new Christians grow in the knowledge and love of God, and in their responsibilities as members of his Church. Each candidate for Holy Baptism is sponsored by one or more baptized persons. At St. Francis, we celebrate Baptisms of children and adults with the entire parish. Please speak to the rector if you are interested in Baptism. An application form for Baptism may be downloaded here. |

FUNERALS
Burial from the church is most appropriate, but accommodation can be made for services at a funeral home if that is desired. Funerals in this church conform to the Book of Common Prayer and the canons and traditions of The Episcopal Church. The rector presides at all services in the church. Visiting clergy may participate at the invitation of the rector. Simply notify the office to arrange an appointment with the rector for counseling and funeral planning. Advance funeral planning is available to all members of the parish. COLUMBARIUM St. Francis has a columbarium for interment of the ashes of cremation if the person or family desires burial in the church. Contact the office for information and costs involved. Reservation of niches in advance is normally limited to the members of the parish or persons with a relationship to St. Francis Church. |
PRAYER CHAIN The power of prayer in our lives, both for those praying and for those being prayed for, is a significant part of our religious experience. Our mission of the Prayer Chain is to bring together the faithful to share in prayer with those in need. The members of the Prayer Chain Ministry pray daily for those who are sick, healing, jobless, terminally ill, lonely, home-bound, traveling, on dangerous assignment, or experiencing other life challenges and crises. In addition, the Prayer Chain Ministry will joyfully offer up thanksgivings for special blessings. Your prayer request will be shared with all members of the Prayer Chain Ministry. All requests and prayers are handled in a confidential manner. Prayer requests should be directed to [email protected] |
