A Letter from The Rector
March 12, 2020
Dear Friends,
Because of a strong recommendation from Bishop Lucinda to the parishes in the Santa Clara Valley Deanery, I have decided to suspend our “in-person” Sunday worship for the next two weeks (at least). Instead, we will be live streaming worship at 10:00 am on Sunday morning. You will receive a link to the live stream and a bulletin of the service so that you can join me from home.
This is a very serious time in our country and we are all journeying in unknown territory. My goal is that everyone remains calm and healthy. Together as a parish, a city/state and a country we will get through this with God’s help. In the words of St. Paul, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Praying together from our homes can and will make a difference.
This is also a good time to check in (by phone or email) with others in the parish, especially our older members. We don’t want anyone to become isolated so a simple call or email is a good thing to do.
Please remember to mail in your pledges or set up an automatic transfer. Although we will not be meeting in person, the bills still must be paid. It costs us around $32,000 per month to keep our doors open (so to speak). We must not let this situation that is beyond our control put us in serious financial trouble.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions or any concerns. The staff will be in the office during the week as usual so call or email if you need anything. I look forward to having you in spirit join me on Sunday. Take care of yourselves.
Blessings,
Maly+
